Help Bennett Staff bring a little Christmas joy to Tameside children

A gift to open on Christmas morning can be a special moment for a child. But when a family is struggling to cover everyday essentials, buying presents can feel out of reach.
This Christmas, we want to go bigger and better; let’s make it our best year yet! Bennett Staff is supporting Action Together’s Tameside Toy Appeal 2026 as a public drop-off point. We’re inviting our neighbours, clients, candidates and local businesses to donate new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children and young people aged 0-18.
Why we’re getting involved
Being part of a local community means looking for ways to support the people around us. By opening our doors as a drop-off point, we want to make it easier for people in Hyde and the surrounding area to take part.
Action Together’s appeal supports children in Tameside whose families are experiencing poverty. Every gift donated through the appeal goes to a child locally, helping them have something to open on Christmas morning.
For us, this is about a simple act of kindness: connecting people who can give with an appeal that reaches families who need support.
We’ve supported the Tameside Toy Appeal as a drop-off point for over seven years, and we want to make 2026 our best year yet! With your help, let’s go bigger and better and bring a little Christmas joy to local children.
What can you donate?
The appeal welcomes new and unwrapped toys and gifts for ages 0-18. Please leave gifts unwrapped when you bring them in.
If you’re looking for ideas, Action Together suggests books, sensory toys and puzzles for younger children; craft kits and board games for school-age children; and stationery, headphones or card games for teenagers. The appeal includes babies and teenagers as well as younger children, so there are plenty of ways to choose a thoughtful gift.
Where and when to drop off your gift
Bring your donation to Bennett Staff, 52 Market Street, Hyde, SK14 1AH, during the appeal period from Monday 9 November to Thursday 10th December 2026.
Can’t donate a gift? You can still help
Sharing the appeal with a friend, colleague or neighbour can help someone else discover how to get involved. You could share our social posts, pass the details around your workplace or tell someone local about the collection.
If you would prefer to give money, Action Together also has an official JustGiving page. The organiser states that online donations are open until 23 December 2026 and will help purchase gifts for the age groups receiving the fewest donations. This is a separate deadline: physical gifts must still be dropped off by 11 December.
Let’s show what local kindness can do
There’s no pressure to give more than you can. Whether you donate a gift or help spread the word, you can play a part in supporting children in our community this Christmas.
Thank you for helping Bennett Staff support the Tameside Toy Appeal. If you’re able to donate, please bring your new, unwrapped gift to our Hyde office by Friday 11 December.
