January 2022 – Wow…… what a great start the new year so far. As we have said in previous news updates we have seen many different companies have flourished and sadly many have gone under.

We are pleased to say here at Bennett’s the last two years have been a success, in terms of innovation, modernization, upgrading systems and our IT Infrastructure has enable the business to continue to operate during a crisis.

We have recruited several new internal members of staff to help grow our brand, and continue in providing the best service we can to our clients and candidates.

We serve the majority of the Northwest with temporary and permanent services.

February 2022 – we have a new addition to our team – Courtney Turner joins the business as an Industrial Recruitment Consultant to work along side Chris. Courtney has spent several months in the industry, but has a wealth of face to face customer service and telesales experience. Courtney has a keen eye for detail and has the same vision and values as the rest of the team to serve our companies recruitment needs.

March 2022 – Kirsty Ellor joined our team, having been a temporary work in the past for several clients and being placed permanent by us a few years ago. Kirsty has years of accounts, customer service, and compliance experience. She joins Julie to run our payroll division and oversees the compliance for all our workers.

April 2022 – changes again to the isolation period, you are advised to stay at home for at least 5 days to avoid passing the virus on to others.

April / May 2022 – important law changes the home office issued further communications to informing employers that their “employers guidance has been updated to reflect the latest changes in the UK’s right to work legislation. These changes will specifically affect how an employer will conduct right to work checks for individuals that have a Biometric residence permit or a frontier worker permit.

May 2022 – Mental Health Awareness week – we shared a series of ways to combat loneliness and stress #1 Talking, #2 Stay Active #3 Eat and Drink well #4 Take up a hobby #5 Maintain relationships

June, July and August 2022 – has been so busy placing more candidates into employment – over 20 of our outworkers have been taken on permanent – well done to all of them in successfully obtaining permanent work.

September 2022 – Sad news reached the entire world, our devoted Queen Elizabeth II passed away. We took the decision to join many other companies in observing the National Bank Holiday for her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral on Monday 19th September.

October 2022 – Right to work checks change from the 1st. Businesses conducting RTW checks on their employees will no longer be able to use the adjusted checking process that was introduced as a response to the covid-19 pandemic. Read our news page for up to date information.

DECEMBER 2022 – TAMESIDE TOY APPEAL 2022

Each year, local charity, Action Together runs the Tameside Toy Appeal. Last year there was over 7,000 toys and gifts donated to Tameside children most in need. Christmas will be a very difficult time this year for many families in Tameside, particularly those living in poverty.

Bennett Staff are proud to support this year’s Tameside Toy Appeal and work with Action Together, as a minimum we are targeting ourselves on 50 presents.

Please donate new and unwrapped gifts for babies to 18 year’s old. All gifts donated to the Toy Appeal will be given to Tameside children living in poverty. Donate by Friday 9 December 2022. We cannot accept any second hand or soft toys.

DECEMBER 2022 – We believe in never resting on our laurels and doing our best to help local and national charities and various concerns along the way.

We are committed each year to several designated concerns. This year we have donated to Sandwich Angels and Tameside Toy Appeal amongst several others.

Since 2015 we have raised over £6,600! Here is where our efforts are going.

Our team celebrated a fantastic year with several nights out, secret santa, prizes, presentation ready for 2023……  Donated a further £20 to Christmas Jumper Appeal.

JANUARY 2023 

We welcome you back to a busy first start of the New Year…… our plans are in place and ready to hit the ground running.

Kelsie Morton joins us as Recruitment Administrator to support the team with her extensive sales, customer service and admin knowledge. Kelsie will help with the compliance and data input of all candidates, chase references etc. Since joining the team Kelsie has already completed various courses including GDPR, Face to Face Customer Services, Telephone customer service and well on her way with the Recruitment Consultant course.

We have had another 1st Year work anniversary……..
Kirsty’s first year has been amazing, learning the ins and outs of payroll and accounting functions. Together with the compliance administration side of recruitment. Plus getting involved in resourcing for key accounts.

Kirsty thrives on a challenge and absorbs everything like a sponge. Kirsty loves learning and has successfully completed several courses including GDPR, Face to Face Customer Service, Telephone Customer Service, Public Speaking to name but a few.

As well as being a vital key player with the team, Kirsty enjoys our social team building nights out, plus a good boogie. Well done once again Kirsty, we are looking forward to what the future holds.

APRIL 2023

Here is Chris who originally joined the business back in the day as Branch Admin / Reception – working his way up the ranks and now running a very successful industrial desk, he is now one of our Senior Consultants.  Chris is well known for supplying and giving a quality service to his clients. Chris goes the extra mile to ensure both candidate and client receive the service they deserve. Chris is very well liked by all his colleagues and loves a good night out with the team.

Well done Chris on your 16th year with Bennett Staff – we are proud of your success and have loved watching your grow into a successful recruitment consultant.

We are extremely proud to be winners of the Medium Business of the Year 2023 on the 12th July at Tameside Business Awards, to say we are overwhelmed is an understatement. We would like to thank the judges for recognizing Bennett Staff for this amazing award. We were up against some fantastic companies who are all worthy winners.

Our team thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful evening at The Village Hotel in Ashton all put on by Quest Media Network / Tameside Radio, huge thanks to them for putting on this event to celebrate local businesses right here in Tameside.

Well done to all the other finalists and winners there last night, it was lovely to celebrate with you all.

We were also delighted to have been shortlisted for the Employer of the Year 2023 – to have been shortlisted against Findel Education and Sunflower Nursery 2 of Hyde’s biggest employers, was an amazing achievement. Well done to Sunflower Nursery who took away the amazing trophy for their hard work.

SEPTEMBER 2023

On the 30th of September 2023, our talented team of recruiters are undertaking a 10-mile hike around Tameside Peaks. This is in aid of raising vital funds for Lifeline Ambulance CIC and New Start Education.

John and his team of fabulous volunteers go above and beyond for Tameside and the wider community.

Here is a brief look into some of the life-changing work they do:

• Christmas Light Switch on cover for First Aid cover (across all Tameside areas.)
• First Aid provision for all local events for charities and fundraising
• Offer free training to help individuals secure employment
• Support new entrepreneurs in setting up their own business ideas
• Support families that are struggling with Finances to buy or free fridges home essentials etc…
• They have also transported over 450 appointments covered free to ensure those with mobility issues get to their essential appointments
• Donated monies to Injured Firefighters Funds
• They have just been commissioned to cover all of Tameside Radios events moving forward
• They also have been nominated for The Kings Award for Voluntary Services and need testimonials if you would like to nominate us.

We raised a staggering £610 for Johns fantastic business.

SEPTEMBER 2023 continued………

29th September 2023

The Directors and staff made a large contribution of gifts, and toys. They were delivered Friday 15th ready for distributing by the Action Together team. Thank you to all our supporters who helped make this possible.

A Big thank you to Natalie who arranged another collection and large donation of £500 from her work place this was collected by one of the ladies from Action Together on Monday 18th December.
