March to December 2020

What a crazy few months, who would have thought we would have been living in Lockdown due to Covid-19. Many lives have been lost and many businesses will never open its doors again. People living in poverty more than ever. How sad 2020 has been. There has also been many businesses that have started up and thrived during this pandemic.

We would like to reassure all our clients, candidates, suppliers and associates that we remain resilient, positive and more than ever customer focused. We have changed many things to keep Covid-19 safe and to ensure our staff, clients and candidates feel safe going to work. Our door still remains closed to general public.. strict appointment only for candidates.

We have adapted to the new norm of virtual meetings, staff working in different bubbles to save mixing. We are certainly dictated to by our business and will continue to operate good business ethics. Lets hope 2021 we will see the back of this dreadful virus so we can move on and continue to make progress. Keep safe and look after your loved ones.

End of March 2020 – we are all in a global pandemic, where we cannot go out, see our family and friends and the uncertainty of our jobs will go back to the way they were. Very scary and unprecedented times we are all facing. But one thing is for sure we are in this together and if we do what the government tells us we will get through this. #Keepsafe #Stayhomesavelifes.

A huge thank you to everyone on the front line supporting our world and keeping it safe. NHS Workers, Police, Fire Brigade, Shop workers, Care workers to name but a few – thank you from us all at Bennett Staff.

March 2020 – after much deliberation we have decided this year we are going to continue to support Sandwich Angels and Macmillan Coffee Morning. Each member of our team also take part in raising extra funds for their own nominated charities. Last year the ladies took part in the Midnight Wander raising monies for Willow Wood, and the lads did a tremendous job on taking on tough Mudder raising monies for Prostate Cancer. Watch this space for who they decide.

What another strange year its been, as a business we have embraced new systems invested in new technology. All our staff have been equipped with the tools to keep themselves safe and in turn ensure our out workers feel safe in going to work. Our clients have all the necessary precautions in place, testing, hand sanitizing, distance policies, masks etc.

Our door has remained closed most of the year and this has not impacted our business in fact we have had an amazing year and lots of success.

Beryl retired after 10 fabulous years, we wished her well and celebrated hard.

Sadly we said good bye to Jody who has been with us for 3 successful years. Jody has successfully obtained a new role within a national agency where she can grow and flourish even more. We are super proud that we gave her a good start within the recruitment industry. Good luck Jody.

Business has thrived, don’t get us wrong its not been easy, changing our routine each month to suit the needs of our clients. The Business Plan has been updated and we have lots of positive things in the pipeline.

Our team have really adapted to this new norm of virtual meetings and who knows this could be a new way of working for us. We continued with staff working in bubbles to help reduce the spread and help to maintain our key objective which is keeping our service to all a top priority. We are certainly dictated to by our business and will continue to operate good business ethics. The great news we have been waiting to hear is that RTW digital checks are here to stay.

In October we finally managed to get out for a full team meal and celebrated missed birthdays, anniversaries, retirements and celebrated looking forward to new challenges.

We have signed up with a local mental health coach who has been in to give our team 10 top tips on maintaining Well being in the work place.

Tom won supercare person of the year – well done Tom.

We have introduced an acknowledgment board for our staff to thank another team member for a job well done.

We have signed up to an online training portal so our staff can learn as they go.

We donated to several charities including mental health, cancer research, Macmillan cancer, and donated over 48 selection boxes to Sandwich Angels to help local families living in poverty.

We ended the year by a lovely team meal out followed by a few drinks and games back at the office.

Sadly we said good bye to Tom who left us in December, we wished him well in his new ventures in whatever he decides to do.
