PRODUCTION MANAGER (A17526)
Our expanding client based on the outskirts of Tameside is looking to recruit a Production Manager.
Summary: responsible for overseeing the entire production process within the company. This includes planning, coordinating, and managing resources to ensure the efficient creation of high-quality of protection products. The role requires hands-on leadership to manage production staff, liaising with the sales team, maintain equipment, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning and Coordination:
- Oversee the Production job planning systems, to make sure we are meeting project deadlines and customer expectations, making improvements if required.
- Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
- Coordinate with the sales and customer service teams to align production activities with project requirements.
- Monitor production processes, addressing bottlenecks or delays promptly.
Team Management and Leadership
- Lead, supervise and mentor the production team, including design, machine operators, fabricators, and all production operatives.
- Conduct training sessions to improve skills and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Monitor staff performance and address any issues related to productivity or discipline.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to understand client requirements and ensure seamless execution of orders.
Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure all protection products meet company and client specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections of materials, processes, and finished products.
- Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Equipment and Facility Maintenance:
- Ensure all production equipment and tools are maintained and functioning optimally.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for regular servicing and prompt repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized production floor to promote safety and efficiency.
Resource Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to maintain adequate supplies of materials.
- Optimize the use of resources to minimize waste and reduce production costs.
- Analyze production data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure the production environment complies with all health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety training and enforce safety protocols among production staff.
- Investigate and resolve any incidents or accidents promptly.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process optimization and implement changes to improve efficiency and output.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technology, and best practices in protection production.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the production team.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Act as a liaison between production and other departments, including design, sales, and customer service teams.
- Provide regular updates on production progress to senior management.
- Resolve any production-related issues that may impact project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in production management, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of engineering production techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

- Hours – 7.30 till 4.45 Monday to Thursday and 4pm finish on Friday
