PERSONAL ASSISTANT - Tameside (PAJN)
We are seeking an energetic and highly organised Personal Assistant to support the Head Teacher in managing daily administrative operations within an educational environment. This vital role involves coordinating schedules, overseeing correspondence, and ensuring smooth communication across departments. The ideal candidate will bring an initiative-taking attitude, exceptional organisational skills, and a passion for contributing to a positive school atmosphere. Your enthusiasm and diligence will help foster an efficient and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors alike. This role requires an Enhanced DBS on the Update service.
The role is to start as soon as possible until a permanent candidate is recruited.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the principals Diary
- Scheduling appointments for the principal with internal and external stakeholders
- Taking minutes at any principal meeting
- Weekly bulletin to all staff – The contents come from staff, so they don’t have to invent content
- Data cleansing our personal folders
- Greeting visitors at reception for principal meetings.
- Hospitality is sufficient for meetings – tea coffee making may be required.
- Managed by the School Business Manager
- Support the school business manager with any ad hoc admin tasks.
- Must be computer literate and able to quickly learn new systems
- Must be able to communicate via email and phone professionally and efficiently
- Able to work at pace
- Must be able to deal with sensitive information appropriately.
- Trustworthy
Experience
- Proven administrative experience in an office or educational setting is essential.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure all tasks are completed promptly.
- Prior experience in clerical roles involving phone etiquette and professional communication is highly valued.
What else you need to know:
- Hours 8 am – 3.30 pm
- £14.00 – £15.00 per hour depending upon your experience + HP
