MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - Tameside (MTCM)
We are looking for an, experienced Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing client based in the Manchester area. This role is ideal for a practical and resourceful individual who thrives on solving problems and keeping a busy production and warehouse environment operating efficiently.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance, and repair of an older manufacturing building and warehouse. You will undertake a wide variety of maintenance tasks, from building repairs and equipment maintenance to general site improvements, ensuring the facility remains safe, functional, and operational at all times.
This position requires someone who can think on their feet, use their initiative, and develop practical solutions to maintenance challenges as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general building maintenance and repairs across the manufacturing facility and warehouse.
- Repair and maintain doors, shutters, racking, fixtures, fittings, and other site infrastructure.
- Perform basic plumbing, joinery, mechanical, and fabrication repairs where required.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of manufacturing and warehouse equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues and breakdowns.
- Identify potential problems before they become major issues and implement preventative solutions.
- Use a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Support continuous improvement projects and site upgrades.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in line with health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
IOSH or NEBOSH Qualification
Have previous experience working as a Maintenance Technician within a manufacturing environment, Facilities Maintenance Operative, or similar role.
- Be experienced in carrying out general building and site maintenance.
- Have strong practical skills and confidence using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Be capable of diagnosing and repairing a wide range of maintenance issues independently.
- Possess good problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
- Be comfortable working within a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Have a strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Be reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage their workload effectively.

Working Hours and Pay Rate:
- 6.00am to 6.00pm – Monday to Thursday
- 48 hours per week.
- £19.50 per hour.
