We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Band Saw Operative to join a manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating band saw machinery to cut and shape various materials, ensuring precision and safety at all times. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills within a dynamic production environment, contributing to high-quality fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

Operate band saw machinery accurately according to technical specifications and drawings
Set up and adjust the machine for different cuts, ensuring optimal performance
Handle materials efficiently, including loading, unloading, and moving materials within the workshop or warehouse
Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure operational safety
Utilize hand tools and welding equipment for minor repairs or adjustments as needed
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Maintain organized workstations, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety standards

Experience

Proven experience in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environments preferred
Experience with milling, assembly, welding, and materials handling processes
Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to use hand tools effectively
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations required during setup and operation
Warehouse experience or previous exposure to industrial environments is beneficial
Strong understanding of tooling requirements and material properties for precise fabrication tasks

7.45am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday 7.45am – 1.45pm Friday
£13 per hour
