BENCH HAND JOINER (BHJ, CT)
Our well-established client based in the Hyde, Cheshire, are looking to recruit a Bench Hand Jonier / Fitter to start ASAP on a Temporary to Permanent basis.
Job Purpose:
To manufacture and install high end contemporary bespoke joinery and high-quality commercial fit out works.
Duties include:
- Understand approved working drawings to complete the manufacture and fit.
- Work to timescales provided.
- Materials used must be as the Production checklist.
- Materials signed for must be as the purchase order and the quality accepted must be 100%, if you are unable to check the order please make a comment on the delivery note ‘Not checked’ and get support from the office, any queries must be reported immediately to the person who placed the order.
- Complete timesheets daily to record work completed on the job.
- You must check your own quality throughout the manufacturing and install process, anything less than 100% will become your snag.
- Job cards must be completed at the relevant stages and handed in prior to the job being loaded.
- Ensure the site pack is complete and all is explained and understood at the pre-site meeting.
- Risk and Method statements must be read, approved, and signed.
- The schedule of install should determine the programme, any issues please discuss and arrange with the project co-ordinator to issue an updated one that has been agreed.
- Any delays, changes are extras must be logged and signed for by the site manager.
- As items are installed, ensure they are checked, signed for, and protected accordingly.
- Housekeeping both in the factory and on site must be “as you go along” and most definitely at the end of each day.
- Materials must be used in the most economical way – to reduce waste.
- Health and Safety must be a priority at all times.
Knowledge, Skills and, Experience Required:
Essential
- NVQ or City & Guilds joinery or site qualification
- Clean driving licence
- Bench hand experience.
- On-site experience
- CSCS card
Desirable
- AutoCAD
- First Aid
- Pasma
Key Dimensions:
- All items will require manufacture from cutting lists to install.
- Timesheets to monitor hours allocated to a job must be completed daily.
- Sign off sheets on site must be performed by the site manager as each item has been fitted.
- PPE to be worn and cared for.
- Housekeeping throughout each task must be performed.
- Communicate effectively with all team members, clients and suppliers.
- Technically credible, grasps issues quickly
- Decisive, determined, keep on top of issues, back up queries/disputes with facts and details.
Working Hours:
- 8.00 am to 5.00 pm – Monday to Friday.
Additional Information:
- Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour to £18.00 per hour (depending on experience)
- 12 weeks temporary to permanent position for the right candidate.
