I have been asked to summarize my experience of dealing with Bennett’s Staff, as follows: –

Finding myself in the position whereby I was seeking full-time permanent employment I replied to an advert for an administrator role local to myself.

I received a call to discuss my submission, from Jo to discuss my application.

In the first instance, Jo wanted the detail of my previous appointments and particular experience against the job description for which I applied.  After briefing my previous employment history and skill set Jo gives me more detail on the employer.

I was informed that my application would be put forward to the employer and would be kept up to date with the progress.  Bennett’s are as good as their word, and I was kept informed as to the progress of the application.  Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful and was fully briefed as to why I was not selected.

Naturally disappointed I believe I was sympathetically dealt with.  Although I didn’t get the job, I was happy that I believed the agency was representing me well and had clearly made an effort to keep me in the loop. Subsequently, I asked Bennett’s if they could find me any type of work, temporary if necessary as I was about to be unemployed.

Within the day I was contacted about a temp position to ascertain if it was of interest, the position and duties were explained, and I agreed to be put forward. An interview was offered by the client and I was informed, initially the interview was offered at 11.00 am. As I didn’t want to knock the boat at my existing employer and I don’t like to lie or be dishonest I asked Jo if she could speak to the prospective employer to see me later in the day at 16.30.

Honestly, I didn’t expect a reply as in my opinion at that time I thought why Bennett’s should make these demands on their client; the onus was on me to make my own arrangements to attend.

I was suitably impressed when call back that the later appointment I requested had been arranged. I thought to myself what a good company to do that, they clearly as my previous experience work hard to match people with employers.

I had the interview and was successful in the temp to perm placing.  On the second time this was a success story with a good ending as the roll was made permanent.

To summarize, I was skeptical at first wondering if agencies were just a processor of people indifferent to the individual. But my experience was totally opposite, at all times my feeling were that Bennett’s were my partner in a dual enterprise.

When required I was dealt with empathy, and motivated  and encouraged when required.

Perhaps this clearly defined the difference between a  small local company that is a genuine stakeholder in the community to a larger national, I can only speak for myself and my own experience.

Thank you to all the staff for being with me at this time.

Regards

Bryn
