PURCHASING ASSISTANT - Tameside (KMPA)

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will play a vital part in streamlining the purchasing process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services essential for our operations. Your energetic approach will help us optimize supply chain efficiency, control inventory levels, and support production planning. Some duties include but are not limited to: 

• Assist in managing purchase orders using ERP system to ensure accurate processing and tracking of procurement activities
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to source materials, negotiate pricing, and secure favorable contracts that align with company standards
• Support inventory management efforts by monitoring stock levels, conducting inventory control checks, and coordinating logistics for inbound and outbound shipments
• Contribute to procurement planning by analysing demand forecasts, supporting production scheduling, and optimising supply chain workflows
• Maintain comprehensive records of purchase transactions, contracts, and supplier communications to ensure transparency and compliance
• Assist in evaluating supplier performance and identifying opportunities for cost savings or process improvements in sourcing strategies
• Support e-commerce purchasing activities and coordinate with merchandising teams to ensure timely availability of products

What else you need to know: 

• This is a temporary contract which will go permanent for the right person.
• Hours are full time, Monday to Friday, early finish Friday
