Once I register a vacancy online, when will a consultant contact me?
After you register a vacancy online, one of our specialist consultants will be in touch with you within 24 hours, if not sooner, to discuss your requirements in detail.
How much notice do you need to be provided with staff?
We would like a week’s notice where possible to ensure we find the best possible candidates. However, we appreciate this is not always feasible and are skilled at filling last-minute and urgent vacancies.
How do you interview your candidates?
All our candidates are personally interviewed either face-to-face at our office or via a video link. This allows us to thoroughly assess their skills and experience, as well as verify all their Right to Work in the UK documents.
How can I pay my invoice?
You can pay for our services via BACS (which usually takes 3 days), a same-day payment, or by a cheque addressed to Bennett Staff Bureau.
Can I approach Bennett Staff confidentially?
Yes. If you need to fill a role with discretion, we can help. Our trained consultants will always deal with your vacancy in the strictest of confidence.
Where is Bennett Staff based?
We operate from 52 Market Street, HYDE, Cheshire, SK14 1AH, near Hyde Town Hall, making us perfectly positioned to serve businesses across Tameside and Greater Manchester.
What geographical areas do you cover?
We cover all of Tameside, Greater Manchester, and South Manchester areas. Our deep local knowledge means we have access to a rich talent pool across the North West.
What are your fees for temporary and permanent staff?
For temporary staff, you pay a simple, agreed-upon hourly rate that covers the worker’s pay, our margin, and all necessary employer contributions like NI and holiday pay. For permanent placements, our fee is typically a one-off percentage of the candidate’s starting salary, payable only upon a successful hire. Please contact us for a detailed quote based on your specific needs.
What happens if we want to hire a temporary worker permanently?
That’s great news, and it happens often! We call this a ‘temp-to-perm’ transfer. We have a fair and structured process for this, which usually involves a pre-agreed transfer fee that reduces based on the length of time the temporary worker has been with you. Please speak to your consultant as soon as you consider this, and they can provide the full details.
What is your process for vetting candidates?
Our reputation is built on the quality of our candidates. Every individual is personally interviewed, and we conduct thorough Right to Work checks as legally required. We also verify references and, for specific roles, can conduct skills testing to ensure they meet the technical demands of your vacancy.
What if a temporary worker isn’t the right fit for our business?
While we strive for the perfect match every time, we understand that issues can occasionally arise. We ask that you contact us immediately if you have any concerns. We pride ourselves on our swift and professional problem-solving and will work with you to resolve the situation, which may include providing a replacement candidate as quickly as possible.
Why should we choose Bennett Staff over a larger national agency?
Our key difference is our deep-rooted local knowledge and personal touch. As a Tameside-based agency, we have spent decades building a network of the best local talent. You’ll deal with a dedicated consultant who understands your business, not a call centre. We offer the professionalism and robust processes of a large agency but with the care, attention, and community focus that only a true local expert can provide.
