SERVICE ENGINEER (A14478)
Our client is rapidly expanding and seeks to recruit either a full time or part time Service Engineer
The Service Engineer reports to the Installation Mgr only. The Service Engineer can call the Production Mgr to discuss particular problems/solutions at any time assuming that most of the time they have tried to solve problems to the company’s satisfaction first.
The Service Engineer can ask for help from the delivery driver at the say so only of the Installations Manager
Responsibilities:
- Be familiar with the companies H&S policies and implement H&S procedures
- Have a full understanding of how each window, door, conservatory & orangery has been fitted/installed.
- Have a full understanding of the specific hardware relates to each job and its suitability for each application.
- Have a full understanding of each of the sealants that are used for specific tasks so that they do not potentially damage any installed products.
- Be able to install windows and doors to a high standard *not a day to day task*
- Can fit skirting boards into conservatories and orangeries
- Understand the company’s paperwork and how to deal with its customers
- Treat the customers property with respect
- Attend training, in company time, upon request
Be able to order specific items for the replacement or repair of products that are under warranty. The decision of repair can be made by the Service Engineer. The decision of replacement can only be made by the Installations Mgr
- Wear the appropriate attire and any clothing supplied by the company
- Keep the company vehicle clean & tidy and report any vehicle faults or issues to the Installation Mgr
- Have their own tools and power tools and keep them in good order
- Request further training at any time
- Not waste stock
- Clean up after the installation or service call is finished and issue any company related documents
- Work to a set schedule
There will be times that you are asked to carry out a job or task that is in another area of the company. This will not be the main remit of your work and you will be asked on the understanding that you can carry out these tasks at a competent level and you understand it’s for the good of the overall company and team. This will only be requested of you by your manager.
£15.00 ph – permanent role – hours to be discussed to suit the person
